The limited edition, The Parade of Sail: Plein Air Series No. 05 by Ryan Stranz, is a one of a kind work created on site at Castle Island in Boston. The vessels in this series come to life with gestural strokes of ink as they entered the Boston Harbor. Working from a desk anchored to the fence beside the water, Stranz said he was trying to "capture the little moments" as each ship passed by. En plein air is the act of painting outdoors, exposed to the elements and responsive to the present.  
 
Framing Note:
This 16 x 20 piece is framed in an 24 x 24 inch frame (solid oak wood only) when selected.
